Maintenance of HVOYA lamps

All our products are coated with Osmo 3040 water-repellent wax oil. The oil penetrates the wood and soaks it from the inside, while the wax creates an invisible film that protects against dirt and moisture. Thanks to this, the lamps practically do not need special care: it is enough to regularly wipe the product with a damp cloth to remove dust.
Stubborn dirt can be removed with P320-P600 grit sandpaper. After that, it is recommended to apply a new layer of wax oil.
We recommend renewing the coating every 5-7 years by applying one new layer of wax oil.

Slightly sand the product with P320-P600 grit sandpaper. Apply a thin layer of wax oil with a cotton cloth. Let it dry for 24 hours. Then sand it slightly with sandpaper to create a perfectly smooth surface. Apply a second layer of oil if necessary.
Work in a well-ventilated area. Use rubber gloves when handling oil. If the composition comes into contact with mucous membranes, rinse thoroughly with water.

We recommend using Osmo 3040 oil. This oil contains white pigment (5%), which allows you to preserve the natural color of the wood. A product coated with oil without white pigment will have a yellowish tint.
